Fuel Summer Learning through Maret's Third Annual Horizons Supply Drive!

Dear Maret Families,

At Horizons, we respond to the widening education gap in the DC area by providing our youth with a joyful five-week summer program:

• building skills in reading and language arts
• discovering new passions in STEAM
• boosting confidence and wellness through swim instruction
• broadening learning through field trip experiences
• and expanding their self-confidence and friendships.

Our students learn in small classes, with highly-engaged teachers, in academically-affirming facilities including Maret School.

Now, more than ever, our project-based curriculum will be critical to ensuring our students feel ready to take on the school year after their summer experience with HGW. This year, we will welcome 140 students to Maret’s campus and we need your help!

As part of our commitment to removing barriers to learning and ensuring ALL of our students have everything they need to fully participate, our program is entirely cost-free. In addition to round-trip transportation and meals, we provide 6 books per student, STEAM project kits, equipment, school supplies, and high-quality art supplies. We help our students build their personal libraries, continue practicing and creating at home, and be better prepared for the school year.

This year, we are asking the Maret Community to help with funding our supply needs. Your support at the following levels will help to provide funding for:

• $25: field trip admission for one student
• $50: a swimsuit and swim goggles for one student
• $100: books and STEAM supplies for one student
• $150: art supplies for five students
• $200: hot lunch for two classes

We are so excited to provide our newest, youngest students and our returning students with another amazing Horizons summer experience.
